Would like to create an SMS/email appointment reminder application that sends a notice 2 days prior. Reminder list would come from a SQL query of upcoming appointments and the message would include Patient first name, Doctor, Facility location, and time for office appointments. Would also like the ability to respond through a button and update the appointment status to confirm. If appointment was not confirmed, would like to send a second reminder the next day. Additionally would like to send out instructions for upcoming surgeries, and also send follow-up instructions after surgery. Features • Opt-out • Exclude sending by doctor and or appointment type. • SQL Query and write back into database • Default messages for office and surgery with the ability to override with a custom message based on doctor and or appointment type. This does not need a complicated management GUI, opt out feature can be done by looking at the “contact by” database field stored in the patients demographics table. The appointment type and doctor exclusion can be based on the database ID. Custom message override can also be based on database ID.

AWS does provide services for email and SMS messages. It's SMS service is limited to few countries. So if that doesn't work we can use some other API like Twilio for this. Hi, I would like to discuss the requirements with you. As per my understanding, these are the following feature. 1) A scheduled Job which sends notifications to patients using SMS/Email API. 2) An Action item button to confirm their appointment. 3) Resend confirmation mail/SMS to patients. I have a couple of questions. 1) Do you guys a mail server by using that system can send mail? 2) Are planning to update status using mail/SMS or using an API? 3) Do have a default mail/SMS template? 4) For API and scheduled job, can I use Java or Python?
