We are currently looking to implement Odoo (v8) as a replacement to Quickbooks, which is serving as our financial backend. Most of the functionality out of the box would work with our organization – we are a professional services firm specializing in social media. We would not need any of the warehouse/manufacturing functions, however, we do have subscription models/options as well as regular hourly consulting and monthly add-ons that we charge clients. Our initial pilot went well and our team feels that a majority of the product would work for us as-is. However, we would want an expert to ensure that workflows are functioning and a few custom fields are entered onto the screens. We need to be able to track expenses by client and by project and by subscription – for instance, if a client signs up for Facebook/Twitter social media management, we need to track the number of hours our employees spend working against the account. In addition, we need campaign coordinators to submit ad-spend requests against an account (purchasing or expensing) and campaign managers approve the request or ad proposal and to have the ability to see how much is being or has been spent against an account (both in time and money). We would also like to use the quote/proposal web feature and have clients be able to log in through a web portal and see their invoices or to sign for proposals. We also would like to have an integration with [login to view URL] and to be able to handle transactions live over the phone (accepting credit cards) with the auth & capture confirmation being available and identified in the sales order screens. This was an option in v7 as an add-on, but it doesn't appear natively available in v8. We've seen a separate add-on that could be installed, so any experience integrating this with this would be key. We also have a Paypal Merchant Pro account if it makes setup easier for v8. We are currently setup using Bitnami on Amazon Web Service – we are opening to switching our setup if there is a better recommendation. We would like to get started quickly as to begin our new 2015 accounting year on the new system. As I mentioned, many of the primary functions fit almost perfectly, there are just modifications on certain modules or aspects we want to have done, plus training to one of our technical staff.
