Need a macro that will run through subfolders in a main directory and copy the filename and subfolder location into an excel file. The file Name would be in column A, First Subfolder would be in Column B, 3rd subfolder would be Column C, fourth Subfolder would be Column D. If the files only have 1 subfolder then the remaining columns would be blank. Example Folder : Collateral has 5 SubFolders each with 4 Subfolders. Each folder may or maynot have files of all different types. I need the full file name (including extension) of the file and the subfolders as described above populated in one excel file. Need something QUICKLY.

this is a simple recursive processing at each subfolder, if the tree depth increases, the next column on the right will be selected. I've made this hundreds of times. to query a directory content, the VBA DIR function can help, but is not recursivity-compatible, the regular FindNextFile from the windows API should be used with a DECLARE statement.
