I am currently a provider of email marketing software/ASP solutions and services. Companies use our advanced email marketing ASP software to create and distribute highly-targeted email marketing newsletters/campaigns to their subscriber and customer databases. I am using the software from [login to view URL] - its doing pretty well, but i have problems with two issues: 1) scalability - it is simply not able to send out enough emails pr hour, I need to be able to shoot out 150.000 mails pr hour as a minimum. My current PHP solution can only handle ~12.000 at the most. Most competitors can send out 4-500.000 mails pr hour, but that is not a must for me. 2) Integration and import of data from external databases - I need my solution to have an API that my clients can use for exchange of data. In my current setup clients needs to upload the data via the internal upload function, that is not the optimum solution. I also have some improvements that I would like to see in a future solution. a) Test a/b runs of mailings to selected databases to see what subjectline has the highest read/click rate b) *real* dynamic content based on segmentation on members via import of demographics and e.g. purchase history from clients. Dynamic content, allowing clients to insert paragraphs, graphics, or other elements in an email based on the interests, preferences, demographics or previous click behavior of each email recipient. Allows the contents of an email message within a single campaign to be altered based on conditional merge fields. c) IPmanagement - so that each of my clients is sending out from an individual IP. Naturally I would have to have a whole C-class at my service, but thats my problem :) d) Improved bouncehandling with an option to setup rules for list cleaning. eg. 3 times bounce, followed by 2 weeks with no sendouts followed by one sendout with bounce would result in a deactivation of the email address. e) Automated Email Sequences - Clients should have automated mailings done triggered by user behavior (opens, clicks, purchases) d) ROI, clients needs to have tags on all pages, and the solution should track sales made by the mail. So that they can see what users/subjectlines/links/etc that have generated sales.
