We need to automatically gather football (soccer) game schedules every day (via cron job possible) from external website and have those start up time and game details appear on our websites (3 websites), with our custom link attached to it. This sort of cron job was done on two websites before but stopped working, so it needs to be fixed or redone. Another website will have clean installation (wordpress) so simple one page design with list of games will be required.

I have already done a similar kind of stuff in the company I work in . I have set a cron job which collects ELB stats from AWS every 1 minute and stores it in influxdb database and further is plotted on grafana. Python is the programming language i have used.
