I am an inventor and have programmed MICROCHIP 16F84a devices to operate a simple timer switching routine using the PICkit 1. I lost all of the hardware I used 5 years ago. I am now using a PICkit 3 with MPLAB's IDE v3.65 to download the old program. My problem is downloading the assembler file I have for conversion as a HEX file using MPLAB IDE v3.65. I am missing the appropriate instructions that would take me from uploading the assembler file into IDE, then converting it to the HEX file I can download via the PICkit 3 to my 16F84a. Is there anyone with the relevant experience in using the updated hardware setup I have described above?
