repair python-based project

I have a program that was written for me (on freelancer). It uses Python to - upload a Word document, - send emails with portions of the word document (as PDF's), - key in data from the document into an on-line program (EMR) that I use for patient medical records. The program was working well until I changed one of the elements in the medical records program (EMR). While it would seem that this change should not affect the program's function, the program now stops at the point of selecting this 'protocol' and freezes. The previous programmer has created a system that pinpoints the error in my program, so I can show you exactly where the hang-up occurs. I believe it should be simple to correct. I would like to repair the program and create the versatility to allow additional changes like th eone that I attempted to be made as necessary. I will provide the program once the job has been assigned. Thank you
