Namaste . I have extensive experience in migrating existing code from PHP to latest CodeIgniter framework. In this process, I will be able to retain the data which is stored in the existing portal and even sync it up with related data in the database as part of the migration. I will have to first explore the existing web application framework and start the migration in phases. During the migration I will prefer to create a clone of the existing version and then modify it with the latest version of PHP. This way I can make sure that the data in the existing portal is safe and within the same time I can confirm that the upgrade didn't affect any of the existing code.
