Create custom widget for wordpress responsive theme

I would like to have a widget on my website where I could display most recent/most commented and most viewed post. When I'll click on one of the tabs (recent, comments and viewed) it should change the content accordingly. Specifically I have several post type for my website and would like to display the latest/most commented or most viewed for each post type. I will only need to display 1 post for each post type, but would like to have the option of displaying more than one. I would like to have the option of selecting which post type should be displayed (if I no longer want one of them to be displayed). Each post should be displayed in a different div and should include the post type name, post title and excerpt. Also my website is responsive and would like to keep it that way, therefor I need to have the option of setting the box size for each post type category. I would like to have the option of full width, 1/2 width and 1/3. (For example for the first post type I want it to be 12 column, but for the second post type I will need it to be 6 column..) I've included a quick example of what I am looking for.
