Hello Developers - - I have been referred to Scriptlance by Anik Singal. I am a student of his and Ros Gardener's Blog class. I have just started a Blog as part of the training class. I have chosen to use a 3 column template that I downloaded from the WordPress themes library (to the best of my recollection). But I need some changes made so that the theme better fits how I want it to look and work. I have listed my requested changes below and would appreciate your input on time and cost to make these changes for me. In the text below I make reference to files and folders attached. They are not attached here but I will attach them to any confirmation email that I send to a developer I choose to work with. Also in that confirming email I will send any passwords needed to access my WordPress and Bluehost files for development work and contact phone number. My intention is to pay for any services through Paypal. BUT, just to be up-front about it, I do have a Paypal account and it is tied to my credit card. But I have never used it yet and am not 100% certain of the process. But if for some reason a "gliche" prevents payment to you through Paypal for your services, rest assured I will get your money to you through some means - - Western Union, bank transfer, check, USPS money order - - whatever. Let me know if you need any additional information from me about the requested changes. Also let me know if any of the changes I've asked for are "over the edge extremely difficult to make" , or if making certain of them will destabilize the template's operation. Changes requested - - And schedule For scheduling, I would like to have this within a few days (2 to 4) from today, Tuesday, December 12,2006. Plenty of time? Too little? Changes to pages Pages About Us Copyright Notice Credits Privacy Policy A. I have created a separate "Credits" page for attributions. Remove the following attributions from bottom of posts page and install a "Credits" button at bottom of page which links to content of my attribution/"Credits" page. bottom of page attribution to delete [login to view URL] is powered by WordPress | Using Tiga theme with a bit of Ozh [login to view URL], create a "Copyright Notice" button on bottom of page with links as with "Credits" page. C. And same for "Privacy Policy". Note that I may add to this list of buttons and content in the very near future by creating a "Disclaimers" content page. D. Currently, pages display in alphabetical order. Change it so they display according to the WordPress Page Management I.D. number. E. I tried to "hide" the "Credits", "Privacy", and "Copyright" pages by making them children of the "About Us" page. But apparently this template does not recognize that and instead displays all pages but with children pages indented on the display. (it works this way with parent/child categories too which for now is o.k.). Change template to hide child pages. Note, if they are hidden but still linked to by bottom of page buttons for reading by guests, then I will have easy access to them for making updates through the WP manage pages/edit function. Yes? At end of changes A through E there will be an "About Us" page under the pages list, and buttons on the bottom of each post page for "Copyright Notice", "Privacy Policy" and "Credits". The pages (when I add more) will list according to the i.d. sequence I specify on WP page management. Archive and Calendar changes Current archives installation is as follows - - Archives December 2006 (3) November 2006 (13) F. Make Archives a drop down/select list of months. In other words, have an Archives title, followed by a "select month" window to click on for month list to choose from. G. Remove number of posts from Archive Month display. H. Change calendar so that post dates are shown in same dark blue used on site title bars and are highlighted (bold). Their current "hover" default of red on the blogsite is fine. I like that. Under "META" on right sidebar, add a tip jar. Paypal HTML in included in the attached folder as a subfolder called "paypal". This code was copy pasted from paypal into EditPlus 2 and then saved into this folder. It was done using HTML mode on EditPlus2, not TXT mode. For example of acceptable tip jar format, see [login to view URL] except just name it "tip jar". Text to put in is "Help fund a trip for Alla to visit her aging parents in Siberia". The click script "thank you !" button is a nice touch, Please change "make a donation", the standard Paypal text, to the script "Thank You !" except make it a light gray like the search box (with black script). Perhaps this button color can't be changed because it's Paypal code. Such is life - leave it white. But I know the text can be changed - example = roamsters.com. Header Changes Note that header text font size in template HTML is 34 for blog name and 12 for description. I have changed them via Shamsul's "tigerator" template interface to 24 and 9 respectively for better balance (in my opinion) on the header presentation. main header - - K. In the header space to the right of blog name and description, place the 2 photos included in the attached "images-1" folder. Position the photos with Golden Gate Bridge closest to name/description and St. Basil's Cathedral toward right side. Scale the photos to use most of the available vertical space but still maintain aspect ratios. Hopefully this can be done in a way so that St. Basil's does not appear to be larger than the Golden Gate Bridge. And by the way, these photos are copyright free and I will post credits for them in the Credits page when they become active on the site. "secondary header" Also note that this template when viewed under WP presentation panel has an empty space between the post and the header into which photos have been loaded. See current theme below. But when actually using the template to post with there is no empty space to put photos into. I know that the way Shamsul has done this is by linking to his photo library on Flickr. Further, he has done it so that different photos are served up with each page change. I haven't setup on Flickr yet. I may in the future, or may not. So for now, just ..... L. Create the empty space beneath the header and load with photos included in the attached "images-2" folder. I have named the photos 1-, 2-, etc.. Put them on the site in order 1 through 5 from left to right. M. ? About all photos, both in main and secondary header - - can they be input in such a way that a user's click on them will render a large version of the photo? Current Theme Check attached Word doc. for image. And Word being what it is you may have to click under "current theme" to show the image. Changes to posts N. Presently the post title font size is "a bit large". Back-off on it a couple of sizes. It looks to be about size 18. Size 14 would probably look better I think. Also, all "active" text on the site has a red "hover". But the post title has no hover color change. It may be that a red hover for such large chunks of text would be unsightly, but perhaps there is some other way to indicate to users that the title text is active for a click. Suggestions? O. On gray bar above each post it currently displays post date. Change this to display day, date, and "at" time the way it shows if you click on post title. Change this - - December 11th, 2006 To this - - Monday, December 11th, 2006 at 8:43 am P. Currently under each post title, the author name is shown. Expand this to include "under category name" and delete "posted in category name" from bottom of post. Change this - - By Gary To This - - By Gary under category name Q. Also, on bottom of post (current and archive display) , change "No Comments" to "Comments Welcomed", unless there are comments present - - then display number of comments in front of "Comment". Change This - - No Comments To This - - Comments Welcomed OR To This - - 1 Comment End Of Requested Changes Now that I have copy/pasted these specs to here I see that this edit box drops images, bold, and colors. I had quite a bit in my original doc. which helped understanding what I intend. So I've copied the spec file into Word and included it here as an attachment. I hope it helps. Thanks, Gary
