Dear Coder,
I want to develop a wordpress plugin specifically for use with Local SEO.
Essentially, I want to display a master page over multiple suburbs whereby specific tags can be altered and make each suburb page a unique version of the master page.
In the plugin settings, we’ll manually define a group of suburbs, and then assign pages from the site menu to display the suburbs as a list in a widget. We would also need to define the primary suburb and service – will explain later the reason why.
So, let me give you an example.
Look at [login to view URL]
You can see I have manually created a list of suburbs in a widget on the right. Each of the links is directed to a specific page where I’ve essentially used the same content but changed the title tags and descriptions to include the suburb reference. This site ranks exceptionally well for all of these suburb pages.
I want to set this plugin up so that we modify the primary menu pages to “change” each time a specific suburb is clicked on. So, if a page is clicked on (and it is defined within the plugin settings as being one of the pages), then on the right, a suburb list would be shown. Each suburb in the list would be hyperlinked to a suburb version of the corresponding page. We could customise the page by injecting tags such as #suburb# or #googlemap-small# for example.
Now, to make it easier, we could customise the primary page and simply use the tags to create suburb specific variations for each. Currently, I had to create a unique page for EACH of the hiwaydrivingschool suburbs...rather than modifying the page once like I am suggesting we do in this plugin.
I’d like to be able to spin the page content and inject tags into the content AND page title and description tags – image tags if possible. I’m not sure if this is possible with multiple SEO plugins. My preference is All in One SEO.
The reason we need to define a primary service and suburb is that if we show the suburb list on a page that is not specified in the plugin – e.g. the contact page – then we need to have a correct hyperlink for the primary suburb and location.
When defining the suburbs, we also need to define the state so that the google map can be generated.
Please ask any questions, or provide comments as well as a likely costing.
Regards,
Simon
