This windows application's sole purpose is to provide MSN /Office 2003 style notifications at specific intervals (eg. Every 30 mins). These notifications will be simply text that can be clicked on to open a URL in a new browser window. (In similar style to when MSN displays a notification that a new Hotmail email has been received) - Notifications will be selected at Random from a pre-made db or file. - Categories of notifications will be available, so user can select what category they would like to view notifications from. - Application must have modern Office2003 style look and feel with Office2003 style menu's etc - Would rather NOT use .NET as we do not want users having to download .NET framework. - Data displayed inside notifications and URL when clicked on would need to be updatable automatically. I.e. application would download a new db file (maybe XML?) every 14 days if one was available. - User would need to be able to make some configuration changes such as: - Should the app start when windows starts - How long is the interval between notificiations - Should the application autoupdate, if so, how often - User should be able to create their own categories and their own notification text and URL ***************** PLEASE NOTE: If you have sample software that is similar in function or look and feel, please provide a download so I can get an idea of your development style *****************
