Powerpoint Presenter

I am after an application that can display and manipulate Microsoft PowerPoint slide shows. I'll give you the background so you can understand why I want it. I work as a sound, lighting and audiovisual technician in various venues. Often for corporate functions, I'll be given a powerpoint slideshow that the creator hasn't really thought through properly, and often at the very lat minute. Most machines I work with are dual monitor, but not all. So what I want is a host application and a client application. The host application should run on the computer connected to the projector (most of the time my laptop which is Windows XP Corporate (Basically Windows XP Pro) and be able to send full screen powerpoint slide shows to the projector. I want the host application to run as a system service or in the system tray, and listen on the network for commands sent from the client application. The client application should be able to tell the host to do all the normal things with powerpoints (ie back and forward slides, exit early, etc), but I also want it to be able to tell the host to display a custom image (preconfigured on the host) and also to jump to a slide number instantly (ie if at the last minute or during the function a speaker cancels so I can skip those slides without the patrons seeing at all). It's important that music and video inserted into the slide show can play. Network security isn't a problem, as it is a 'closed' network only between a few computers and devices to do with the function (ie projector, house computer, my laptop, media server, etc.) I would love for this application to be developed in Visual Basic 6.0 or Visual [login to view URL], but any other windows language would be ok. I do not consider java suitible for performance environments though. I just had a thought too: It would be great if the 'client' is an HTTP control interface hosted by the 'host' application. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Windows
