Streaming bittorrent website

The purpose of this project is the creation of an online bittorrent video streaming site. Users should be able to click on a video torrent metafile link, and the browser will immediately begin to stream and play the video. Like any torrent software, all users viewing the video will act as peers and seeders. Assuming the user has a fast internet connection and the torrent has many seeders, the video should play smoothly with minimal buffering in all major browsers. One early example of this was [login to view URL], which uses Java. However, for this project it has to work purely with HTML5. No software to download, plugins or browser extensions are allowed. The site should preferably be built in PHP with any backend components to run on linux. We are not looking for a perfect, polished site. Just a proof of concept that shows this can work. Any and all available open source technologies should be considered, including: webtorrent ([login to view URL]) peerflix ([login to view URL]) node.js Websockets WebRTC …etc Coder must be driven, super creative and have a guru knowledge of: - HTML5 technologies & Javascript - PHP - Extensive experience with media streaming, bittorrent, p2p and video and audio formats and codecs - Deep and creative understanding of compression, encryption, networking, p2p caching and bandwidth - Knowledge of all p2p/broadcast/multicast/unicast protocols We are looking for a single or small team of freelancers, NOT big shops or outsourcing firms.
