Mapping and routing

Mapping and routing application - the end user will generate a small exported data set of addresses in MS Excel or CSV format from an existing application. Need to have new application use this data to create points on a map. Would prefer using standard Google Maps, Yahoo Maps, Microsoft Maps, or similar for displaying points. The user would then be able to select a point or a group of points (by dragging a rectangle), right clicking to display data grid, then change one column only (ROUTE#) in data grid. Once all data points are selected and edited, the data would be converted back to Excel or CSV format. The user will then import back to original application. ## Deliverables The imported list of addresses are normally within a 50 mile radius. The application is for local delivery routing. There could be several hundred addresses to display so the ability to zoom in and out will be needed like typical mapping applications. If possible, we would like to use an existing mapping application as an "engine" to gain all the features like populating, zooming, etc.? Then overlay our data on the map. There needs to be a flexible means of selecting groups of points (or a single point) like holding the mouse button while dragging a rubber band box. The user would then chang the ROUTE# data point within a displayed data grid of currently selected addresses. All data records (addresses) would start as one color. "Currently Selected" addresses should be a different color. When user is satisfied with the selected group, they would click on screen button (or right click?) to display grid to modify the ROUTE#. It would also be OK to provide a single prompt for ROUTE# and programatically populate the selected records. Once ROUTE# is assigned, data records would be third color. Thus, the user could keep track of what they have changed and what still needs attention. Once all data points have been changed, the data is exported back with warning if there are unchanged data points being exported. ## Platform "Windows XP", "in all 6.0+ versions of Internet Explorer and 2.0+ versions of Firefox"
