**On an existing ASP web page which contains event information (running on SQL server 2008 in the back end), we would like to provide a link to user's calendar module in Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter and Blogger.**
The ASP web page contains event information such as Date, Start Time, End Time, Meeting Name and Meeting Type in a table. To this table, we would like to add an additional column titled "Add to Calendar". If the user hovers over this link " Add to Calendar ", icons for Email, Gmail, Facebook, Blogger and Twitter will popup. Then, the user can click on the required application. Then, the user is taken to the calendar feature of their application and the user can add the event to their calendar.
If the user has already logged in to the application in their system (outlook, Gmail etc.), when the user clicks on the link to calendar, the link should directly take them to the calendar module of their application (Outlook, GMail etc.,) so that the user can add the event to their calendar. If the user has not logged in to the desired application, it should prompt the user to login so that the event can be added to their calendar.
This is similar to **"Share this" icon or "Add this" icon** implemented on many web pages now-a-days. The main requirement in this project is that it should take the user to calendar feature of their application. We could use iCalendar or any other suitable format to transfer the event details to the application's calendar module.
