I am looking for a PHP script crawling through the web automatically and saving as much de / at / ch / net / com domain names as possible in databases. DE Domains shall be saved in database 1 AT Domains shall be saved in database 2 CH Domains shall be saved in database 3 etc The crawling activity has to be done legally to avoid blocking IP. Please give an estimate with your bid, how much domains your script could crawl and save per day.

Hi, So, if you want to generate the domain names locally, than this script is easy, but runs for a very long time, since there are a huge number of possibilities. My thoughts are: generate a name, put the .de after and send a simple request. If the page exists, save it. Generating millions of names however is a computer-trying script. Let me give you an example: $chars = array('a', 'b', 'c', 'd', 'e'); $tested_sites = array(); $are_more_possibilities = true; while ( $are_more_possibilities ) { $word = shuffle($chars); if ( !in_array($word, $tested_sites) ) { $tested_sites[] = $word; if ( file_get_contents('http://www.'.$word.'.de') ) { //Save the site to DB } } } The best would be to have a source of names or something from where the script could get the names.
