Search and Analysis

we want to build a search engine like web application. 1) users should be able to search in different spaces and choose what they want to see ([login to view URL] style) and have some degree of personalization (google home page) 2) query input can be: a text box and/or a text area and/or a file submission 3) the user should easily hide or show these elements to choose what they want to input 4) optionally there will be a set of parameters that will be described as an XML schema document and should be shown as a web form 5) with this common input interface, the user could choose different actions (so the Search button is more of a combobox, but it would be nice if it has a button look) 6) searches are submitted via web services (SOAP or HTTPRequest) so an AJAX style is preferred 7) results can be returned as an RDF or XML document 8) some "searches" can take a while to execute, the server will the return an id that has to be tracked (side bar) and checked for completion 9) results can be selected (each will have an id) and the selected one to be used as an input for a new query 10) an existing application provides some of the functionality and the code could be available to the selected developer, it is a Struts based application we want a simpler but more flexible interface, web services based, our developers will help with the business logic, so we are more interested in the web and functionality aspects, Java web frameworks, (AJAX, JSF, etc) are preferred, but we are open to other platforms ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform all
