Hi, I have been developing websites with Joomla since 2008. I'm therefore familiar with Joomla 1.5. It should not be a problem fixing the issue, though having details on what you actually did (steps you took) would help. Re-installing a captcha extensions compatible with your version may be more of a challenge. I would have to check what's available and Joomla 1.5 compatible (and not conflicting with other extensions you may have). In any case long term it would be wise to upgrade.
