Modify existing Grails 2.4 application to support login with Microsoft AD/LDAP

Hi, we're looking for a fixed price quote to implement the following requirement for our Grails 2.4 web application: Overview: Our software is sold to customer who can install it at their sites. Currently it uses Grails Spring Security plugin with users and roles managed within its own DB in the application. We need to allow the customer to configure the application to optionally use Microsoft Active Directory or LDAP to configure both users and roles from the directory - instead of using the default internal DB. Since our software is supplied as a compiled .war file, this configuration needs to be external to the .war and cannot be embedded in the source code. Suggested approach is to use system properties or a combination of system property + external config file to contain the configuration, unless you can suggest a better solution. Additional notes: - The end result of this task is that the software can be deployed in 1 of 3 modes: 1. Use the internal DB for users and roles (currently implemented) 2. Use Microsoft AD for users and roles (needs to be done) 3. Use other LDAP for users and roles (needs to be done) - If the app is configured to load roles from LDAP and there are no roles defined for a user, then the user should be assigned ROLE_DEVELOPER - The solution should be tested with a real instance of Microsoft Active Directory Additional Requirements: Write an installation document for the user that describes how to: a) Configure Microsoft AD with users and roles, this must include screenshots from the AD instance used for testing. b) Configure our application to talk to AD/LDAP. The document should use minimal formatting and should include screenshots where necessary. c) This document does _not_ need to be neat or pretty, just contain the essential information and screenshots, we will format and clean up the language. Milestones: 1. Describe how you will implement this requirement in an audio call. 2. Implement the changes required in the code and test it using real AD servers 3. Write the minimal configuration document for the user.
