I am looking for a programmer to create a basic interface that would allow to print to an Epson TM U220 by reading a text file. Text file would have some basic markups such as [b][/b] for bold... etc nothing complicated I will have limited access to the printer therefore YOU MUST HAVE PROGRAMMED FOR A DOTMATRIX POS PRINTER BEFORE I don't have to time to spend with somebody who is "trying". YOU MUST mention code JPP04 as your first word in your reply. ## Deliverables 1) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Employer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the employer on the site per the worker's Worker Legal Agreement). 2) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 3) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Employer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Worker in ready-to-run condition in the Employer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the employer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this project. ## Platform xp

JPP04 Hi, I'm professional developer with more than 10 years working with various printers, I haven't worked with this model before but it seems similar to one of fiscal printers I've worked with. Can you explain what type of commands you need supported, and can you give example of how will it look like.

Good morning, I'm currently developing a complete POS systems so I deal with EPSON POS Printers (Fiscal or not) in a daily basis using xon/xoff protocol. What I would do is an application which 'senses' a file in a specific folder, so you just copy/send the file to that folder and the software will print to the Epson the receipt. I just need to know the structure of the text file in order to 'translate' the lines to xon/xoff output. The software will communicate via COM port to the printer, of course. JPP04 Hello, I'm developing apps in delphi for past 20 years. I worked with matrix printers before, POS printers also. I used ESC sequences to format printers output. I have similar app, app waits for text file and converts it to PDF and then print it using windows print driver. This should be console app that is call every time when printing is required or service that runs and when get txt file print it to POS printer? I have access to Epson TM U220 so I will test my app. regards Davor BSC IT.

I understand what you need and I also have the Epson TM-U220B on my table. Now, i used the printer to print the receipt paper at petrol stations using c # program. I can finish the job in a matter of minutes, if you want it. Thank you. Regards, Erwin

Hello, I have extensive experience in the .NET environment using C, C++, C#, and VB.NET. I also have extensive experience in Epson and other PCL (printer control languages). The Epson Escape Sequences are an industry standard (well, kind of) and implementing parsing of the file and formatting should be no problem. The program will be debugged in Windows XP and an actual Epson TM U220. I do not have a TM U220 on site, but will purchase one (they are commonly available), retain it for a mutually agreed upon period (explanation below), and eventually resell it to recover some of the investment. I have programmed the TM U220 previously and also have recently programmed a larger Epson dot-matrix printer for a Canadian client who needed multipart forms on a tractor feed model. Deliverables will be an XP-compatible Install File, executable (.exe), full source code (C or VB.NET), and documentation. I will retain the TM U220 for three months for future debugging or until you tell me that it is no longer needed. What I need before the project clock starts ticking is a completely documented set of the markup codes. These will be used for implementation and quality control. You (or I) will supply 10 test .txt files that will be test all markup codes. The project will be deemed successful if the .txt files run without errors. The executable will include a simple Winforms interface. Note that this is not a Webforms project unless I am misreading it. Bill WtbMedia

JPP04 My first DOT matrix printers programmed and commaned by me was EPSON and it was 1988. I programmed and controlled those types of printers for general use and for POS many times. I even still have a book with printer command codes. Can program it under the old DOS, XP, Win7, embedded controllers with C programming environment for serial or parallel interface (or serial over USB). Text files containing text for printing and commands are simple to interpret - I only need the list of commands. I will be glad to receive more details to detail the work.

Hello, JPP04 I have already worked with most of Epson printer. I have worked on Electronics Tolling System. System use Epson thermal printer for ticket printing. So, I have great experience with Epson printer integration with system.
