Convert Phd thesis from MS WORD to 2-column INDESIGN

I am in the process of publishing my archeology Ph.D thesis of about 450/500 pages. 1) The work is in word format and is full of charts, tables, and images. I need the thesis to be put into InDesign (two columns per page, font times new roman 10), perfectly formatted for final pubblication. The specific inDesign format specification is set by the editor and will be made available to you upon project acceptance. I have been given a sample inDesign template too. special attention will need to be paid on the following points: a) all the tables in text (there are about 50) need to be reformatted in a uniform manner so that there is a consistent style. b) there are many images in the word document, which also need to be included in the inDesign document and placed coherently/as we will define later. Most of the images will need to be converted to black-and-white. The original image files are available if required: it is important that the image quality not be reduced when converting from the word document to inDesign. c) footnotes will obviously need to be conserved 2) A "catalogue" is also in Word format, with one page per object. The information on these pages needs to be put into new, simple, half-width tables with no images. The new tables will then need to be presented one after the other, in the same two-column inDesign format as the rest of the text. The "sample catalogue table" attachment shows on the first page what the data currently looks like, and the second page illustrates how the data would need be converted. attached: 1) is a representative chapter sample of the word document. (there are also approx 50 tables in the text) 2) a sample catalogue table, to be converted into a simple table. There are approx 400 such tables. Clearer instructions and specifications will be made available as required.
