My sports blog, [login to view URL], is currently on Shopify's platform and is subscription based. We are wishing to move the site to a wordpress theme. The new site will NOT include subscriptions and will not have anything for sale. [login to view URL] is a sports blog that follows news and rumors surrounding college basketball coaching. I will likely be adding other sports later this year. I am a wordpress beginner so I am looking for an expert that can take the time to understand the concepts I am looking for and provide suggestions as to layout, plugins etc. This is a seasonal blog with the heavy season beginning in February so I will need it to be completed in 2-3 weeks. Responses needed from me will take place in 24 hours and often under 12 hours. A mobile responsive design will be important. This is a competitive area so someone with SEO expertise is vital. I have hand sketched the basic preferred layout of the website (see attachments). Below will give you a general idea of the features of each page. Features for all pages - Google analytics - Share this function after each article (twitter, facebook, email etc.) - Google adsense with possibility of other advertising platforms - Each page would have the same header to include news & rumors, rankings, hot seat, big board, features, transactions, job openings, contact us, faq - Option for comments after each post Homepage - A button that goes to a submission page to submit rumors - Users can enter email address to signup for newsletter - A list of recent blog postings from newest to oldest - Ability to search site - Links to twitter and facebook page (currently active) Rankings - Three categories of rankings. Rankings would be in a spreadsheet like format. The headlines would remain static – the rankings would change often Hot Seat - Similar to rankings with the ability to see previous rankings Big Board - This would show a list of all schools with head coach job openings (at most 20-25 at one time). I am not certain on best layout – possibly just the school names with links to an individual page that lists the rumored replacement coaches Features - Just a list of blog posts from newest to oldest Transactions - Would have one post a day that included the coaching changes announced for that day Job Openings - The current site currently pulls data from a job site to fill this information. Something with similar automation would be needed.
