Building a community wireless network

Hello, We are in the process of initiating the deployment of a city-wide community wireless internet solution. The aim is to bring internet coverage to people in rural communities and some of the suburban areas. In starting out, we have selected a target pilot area which has an approximate population of 13,000 people and an area of about 10km2 (in view of extending to the other parts of the city subject to a successful pilot outcome). The communities are sparsely populated, electricity and lamp posts etc (for mounting) are almost non-existent. Please kindly respond with a brief description of how you qualify to join the deployment team in executing the preliminary assessment stage of this project. Please also provide extensive details of your survey and feasibility study plan; including all the information and details you would aim to acquire and most importantly, the anticipated duration of this exercise and costs. We expect that this stage (survey and feasibility study) would not exceed the duration of 2 weeks however, we are open to your suggestions on why you think this may be unrealistic. Points to note: • Little or no electricity supply in the target area • There are no lampposts for mounting devices • Distance between the main internet source and the pilot area is unknown (this should be determined during the survey) • You would need to establish what wireless technology could feasibly bring the project to fruition; and any other points of consideration. In an effort to control and best manage the financial outlay for this project, we have decided to deploy the expertise of freelancing professionals with the right skill sets and hopefully, we can proceed with the same team to execute the deployment.
