Summary of Scope of Work and Delivery Schedule - MOCK-UPS AVAILABLE I. US-Russia Civil Society Partnership Program To increase its user base and facilitate the design of concrete and innovative policy recommendations to accelerate progress in defined priority areas, CSPP seeks to improve and redesign its current website. The redesigned website will constitute a public resource for information about Civil Society and the CSPP program in general as well as the broader work of CSPP participants, including working group members and grantees. It will feature a blog with a robust tagging and feed system, a dynamic picture-based news box, an interactive map, and feed boxes featuring content from Twitter. The primary audience of the website will be participants from American and Russian community organizations, international donors, and citizens of both Russia and the United States with an interest in Civil Society or Russian / US relations. II. Goals of Website Redesign Streamlined interface: The website will feature a streamlined interface to promote the work of CSPP and its working group members and encourage participants to contribute content. Dynamic Content: The website will feature more dynamic content, including a tagging system that feeds posts to various sections of the website, a featured news box with photo thumbnails on the homepage, and a news feeds that will be updated regularly. Ease of use: The website will not only be easy to navigate for its users, but also simple to maintain and update. CSPP staff should be able to update stories, features, and photos without doing extensive HTML coding manually. III. Technical Specs The current website is built using the combination of Drupal 6.22 (with all its typical requirements: MySQL 5.1.41, PHP 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.10, and Apache/2.2.14 (Ubuntu)) (Appendix 13) and Open Atrium 1.0, and a number of other modules (Appendix 14). The current theme for the site is Coop. Beyond the necessary updates, the overall platform for the website must remain the same, with no upgrade to the new version of Drupal. IV. Qualities of the Site Features Each of these features has been included in the mock-ups that are attached as appendixes. It is expected that the consultant will redesign the website in accordance to these mock-ups, and consult with the program director before making any changes to the existing design. ? Blog (Appendix 1, 11) The site redesign will feature a robust blog system with a functional tagging system that will allow site administrators to create posts that will then feed to various parts of the site, including the ?Working Group Blog? on the homepage (Appendix 1) and the individual Working Group page blogs (Appendix 2). This blog will include feature stories that will populate the main dynamic news box on the homepage as well as other stories that will not be featured. The blog will have a box on the home page that features all of the latest blog updates (?Working Group Blog? on A1). ? Feed Boxes (Appendix 2) There will be 18 pages with boxes that are connected to the main blog (A2). They will feed posts from the main blog system according to a tag. (ie. A page on Child Protection will have a box that contains the most recent stories tagged as ?Child Protection.?) There will also be a box on the home page that features all posts from the blog that are tagged a certain way (?Working Group Blog? on A1). ? Social Media Boxes (Appendix 1, 2) Twitter boxes will be featured on the home page and each of the 12 working group pages. The home page will show all posts on Twitter, while the working page Twitter boxes will show only tweets with a defined hashtag. ? ?Members in the News? Box (Appendix 1, 2) This box will be featured on the homepage (A1) and on each of the 12 Working Group Pages (A2). It will consist of a list of links to short news items. These links will be tagged and fed to similar boxes on the appropriate Working Group pages. ? News Box (Appendix 1) This dynamic news box will have a large feature story picture and caption as well as small photo thumbnails demonstrating the other feature stories (in the same format used on the [login to view URL] homepage). Staff should be able to update the feature story and photos with ease. ? Interactive Map (Appendix 3) The map page will include location information for a variety of grant projects and working group members. Approximately 100 locations in the US and Russia will be highlighted. ? New Navigation Bars (Appendix 4,5) The ?Grants,? ?Events,? and ?About? pages will feature a new navigation bar, similar to one that already exists on the ?Events? page of the current site. b. Compatibility i. The consultant should ensure browser and operating system compatibility, and define a method for CSPP to regularly troubleshoot after the site is launched. V. Schedule for Deliverables The entire site should redesign should be completed in no more than nine weeks. By the end of week 1, the 12 social media boxes should be complete, and the new navigation bars should be installed on the grants, events, and about pages, with the appropriate pages having been created. (Appendix 4-10) By the end of week 5, the blog and tagging system with all associated feed boxes should be in place (Appendix 11) By the end of week 6, the new dynamic news box and maps should be in place on the home page By the end of week 8, the website should be ready for testing and populating, including the interactive map page By the end of week 9, the redesign should be complete Upon final approval and launch of the new site, CSPP will reimburse expenses.
