Deadline: Aug 29th Final Review: Sept 2nd Running Time: Approx 5 minutes. Produce 3d animated video of steel building construction for the purpose of pointing out deviations and defects in various stages of the construction. Video will require text overlays to describe certain aspects. No sound is needed. Candidates must have good construction knowledge and experience in architectural 3d modeling based on construction documents. An overall 3d model of the structure will be provided which includes the main structural elements, purlins, girts, beams and open web floor joists. Roof, walls, and floor decking will need to be modeled as needed per scene. Structural details such as clips, bolts, etc. will need to be modeled as required per scene. Scanned construction documents which the overall 3d model is based on will be provided in pdf format. A detailed script will be provided. The video will be broken down into several scenes that convey issues encountered at various points during the construction. Portions of the model will need to be isolated to represent different phases. Alternate configurations of details will need to be created to represent mistakes made during construction. Elements will need to be highlighted during the video to draw attention to components installed incorrectly. 3D construction details such as bolts and welds will need to be added for close-up views of specific areas.
