Trip Renter – Website Design Changes Trip Renter is an internet company which specializes in bringing vacation rental property owners together with travelers who are looking to rent accommodations outside of the usual selection of hotels. Travelers search our site ([login to view URL]) for their ideal rental property and use the site to contact the property manager. The text below describes the project in detail. There will be two milestones for this project. First, create the mock-ups using an application like Photoshop, so we can approve the design. Second, create the html/css to enable this to work. I will integrate this into our existing website. You will be provided with our current css files to ensue an easy integration. I will take care of all code for social media controls and links. Cover page changes The purpose of this project is to replace an existing portion of our cover page with something new and eye-catching. Please visit our website ([login to view URL]) and see the attached file. We are looking to replace the section highlighted by the red square. In its place, we are looking to have an image that conveys what the company does. We’re going to leave this open to interpretation, but it needs to give the user an idea that this is a website where you come to look for vacation rental properties. Naturally, there will need to be some text in this space, such as “search thousands of properties for the perfect vacation”, or something to that effect. The text may need to be part of the image. The image can be something ranging from tropical to metropolitan and anything in between. The image will dominate the left 2/3 of the screen. The total available screen width is 900px. The right 1/3 of the screen will contain links to recent articles posted on the site. There will be two sections of articles: featured articles, and recent articles. There should be about five or so links in each section. There also needs to be a link which has “archives” as the text. If possible, I would like to have a textbox and button below for users to fill in their email address and submit. An RSS button would be desirable as well if possible. Blog Page Template This deliverable is about creating a template for our blog entry page. There will be one article per page. The left 2/3 of the page will be dedicated to the article content and the right 1/3 of the page will have two uses. At the top of this section will be an area to register for email delivery of all blog entries. Below this will be a section containing links to top articles and below that will be a section containing links to the most previous articles. There will be up to five links in each section. Below that will be a link to the archives page. Below this will be two google adsense ads in the square configuration (250 x 250). The width of this section shall be wide enough to accommodate the 250px width of the Google ad. The template requires a header, which will contain the title. The title should have an underline or some sort of small divider. Below this divider will be the usual social media icons: facebook share, twitter tweet, google+, then a divider “|”, then email, print, and RSS icons. Please see the attached file for an example. The social media icons need to appear at the top and bottom of the article. I will do all the coding to hook these up. Having the icons present is what I am looking for. To demonstrate what this page would look like, please create a fake article using Lorem Ipsum. The page should have a heading, two sub-headings, and an image. Fill in the links on the right hand side with something like “article 1”, “article 2”, etc.
