Web site to interact with GPS devises with communication in both ways

I have been working with GPS sites for several years, and DNN since late 2002 when it was first released. There are several open source packages you could use for this project. I am suggesting using an existing open source package as most of the work is done. Do you have a VPS? You will need a VPS with at least 8GB of ram to implement this type of system. At first look here are my thoughts on the requirements you have provided: 1) If you have different types of devices you will need to have a socket listener for each device type. The reason for this is that different types of devices have different command / response codes. There are hundreds of different devices, so you must figure out which ones you intend to support. 2) The socket listeners AKA Device Communication Server or DCS is a stand alone process that passes the data to the GPS application which inserts the information. 3) The GPS application software has its own database structure which has been tried and proven. The database structure can co-exist in the same database as the DNN data 4) The forms are already coded into the GPS application, the source code is available so they can be modified. 5) The code for the GPS application is written in either Java or or C# depending on the GPS application software chosen. 6) See item 4 7) I would need to know exactly what you need to provide an accurate quote.
