An already running search website has an algorithm designed to match supply and demand of a specific market. The job is to: - refactor the data architecture (around 30 fields) and current algorithm to improve performance of queries - add a new search feature to the algorithm The goal of the algorithm is to narrow down a large set of data (40,000 records) in seconds based on multiple criteria including geography. We're looking for a talented SQL developer to accomplish these tasks and potentially be involved in additional/similar projects. To be selected, you will need to show existing work (in the form of finish work and its underlying code). Also show link to relevant Q&A forum participation (e.g. stackoverflow) - that would be helpful.

I have over 15 years experience in writing SQL queries. Sorry I don't have any of the qualifications you are asking for, but I can tell you that for the last 3 years 90% of all the queries I have written were done in SQL. I have written many filter queries as you described, and I have also written ranking queries as well as queries that detect overlapping time among divergent groups. I am willing to risk taking on the project and working at 20% Milestone increments. This will keep your costs in check and allow for incentive based reviews. I write databases for small and medium sized businesses in North Texas. My last long term assignment was with MHMR of Tarrant County, so I am very aware of privacy and security concerns.
