For a Theater Production we have to make a women's costume that features a section of material which will be cut and pleated to make a fan shaped wing like effect. We need this designed in CAD (or similar) so that a pattern can be printed to cut the material to shape and put the ceases in the right spots and angles. We have quite detailed hand drawings we will share with the selected Freelancer

I have done something similar but it was a pattern for some leather design made for a designer that wanted his drawings to be kept secret ( de collection is not yet launched) . I hope that this could be considered good experience for your project. Thank you for your time!

I would like to be considered for your project due to it's artistic and challenging nature. I will create a set of drawings based on your sketches for the costume detailing that you require with all necessary measurements and layout details required based on your sketches and directives. I will provide all drawings in the format(s) required and provide you with the .dwg file as well.

Hi, I'd love to take on this project! I realise I don't have much of a reputation or portfolio on here yet, but I am a professional engineer with experience in CAD work, and also a long-time sewer who makes all sorts of functional things out of various materials. I therefore have a good understanding of how fabric handles and folds, and am also familiar with sewing pattern marks and conventions for indicating grain direction, for example. (I'm currently trying to bring these interests together in a new way, too - doing experiments at a local makerlab with laser-cutting fabric pieces for making neck ties.) For this (and for your task if selected) I use DraftSight, an AutoCAD-style drawing program that produces detailed and accurate 2D drawings. I can therefore take your original hand drawings, convert them to CAD, and then provide both .dxf or other exchange format files for printing, and the original CAD files too. There is a free version of DraftSight available so you would be able to view and modify the original files yourself in future, if needed. Looking forward to hearing from you, Kathryn
