Rework my app - remove AJAX/XML and introduce direct links -- 2

We have a well working app that uses XML to update the user screen. While smooth it is a challenge on some devices and it is too slow. We simply load an empty page and then request an XML document that loads information like this (those are search parameters): [login to view URL]://[login to view URL] d Y&_lan=en-us& We would like to go back to a simple HTML interface where we reload the whole page (and optimize for small page load size). Please make sure the page loads in 2s using our development server (that we will provide). In addition we would like to allow direct links like this: [login to view URL] These are external links we can give to users - all they need to do to load the page is an active session (or we create one after login and redirect to that page).
