Detailed Project Description: Please read carefully before placing a bid. This is a website for an upcoming musician. Site’s main pages: This is how we see it. But you may come up with your creative ideas. A flash intro: Preferably (600 x 400 pixel width) where the title ‘Band O Band’ shows up and dissolves slowly. Then a series of images appear as in a slideshow, before finally giving way to the artist’s photographs. The music plays and images need retouching. ‘Band o band’ should be written as ‘Band o (big ‘o’) Blast’, with the big ‘o’ encircling‘d’ in the first ‘band’ and ‘b’ in the ‘blast’. The flash intro needs to sit nicely into a page with normal HTML with navigation. That means the index page is not entirely flash. About artist: This is for bio of the musician. With a slideshow of photographs and commentary. (flash or javascript or whatever ) Schedule: we should be able to inform fans about forthcoming concerts and important dates or events. Songs: We won’t sell physical albums or CDs here. We will be uploading each and every song as it is produced. Songs are categorized into dance music, English vocal, other language vocal and background scores. A visitor should be able to listen to a 30 second clipping of each song / score. Visitors should be able rate a song on a 5 point scale and to make their own virtual albums by selecting songs they liked into an virtual CD. A maximum of 15 songs constitute a virtual CD. Then the visitor makes payment through ‘paypal’ and obtains a download link for the songs he / she ordered. User registration is necessary. Users will be notified whenever new songs are uploaded. Users should have an option to recommend a song to their friends and a reward system is to be implemented for referrals. All referrals made by a user becomes his group / downline and a commission is paid to the user, whenever a sale occurs in his / her downline ( upto 2 levels ). In addition to the music the site may sell related merchandise. Thus we need a way so that all registered users can interact with each other discussing about music. Audio and video streaming capability is required. Though we are not uploading videos right now, in near future that may be necessary, but only a few short clips. All songs need to be protected against illegal downloading or distribution. Its up to the programmer on how to implement this. We provide all the copyright information and credits for a song. We are open to using third party services to host songs, but we prefer the songs to be hosted on our servers. We should be able to podcast songs and create xspf playlists dynamically. We might want to relay songs to other websites during promotional campaigns. Users / Fans: most of which described above. Registration, activation, makes playlists, create virtual CDs for buying, rating songs, forum (well integrated, no separate login or no separate design) and recommend a song to friends. We should be able to find / sort fans based on different search criteria, e.g. country, city and send them email informing about a tour or event. Free stuff: free stuff is a place where we may allow free download of some songs or background scores. In addition our promoters may offer discount coupons or some free merchandise from time to time. The page should update from database. CMS: We need a control panel to manage all the above. We may change the photographs and images in the slide show too often, depending on the nature of the music we are promoting at that time. The slideshow should pick images from a given set of photographs. User administration and SPAM control features are a must Additional Features: We don’t need any additional features other than above. But we need such architecture that we should be able to add new features as simple plugins. We don’t mind if you use any of the available CMS systems to make this site. But the interface should be chic and flashy. Demo: We wont be happy requesting a demo and then to say a ‘no’. But it is good for both of us, if you can set a demo (on your server) to make sure it functions as we requested, before making payment. What we are looking is an eye-catching design and proper way of handling payments and downloads. If you did such a site before, you can provide a link to that site. We have some friends that are experienced in web programming, but not great designers. We need designing capabilities as well as programming skills. We prefer experienced ones who did similar sites earlier. We have a checklist / questions that you need to answer before selecting you for this project. Upon the completion of the project, payment will be made only after the demo site on your server functions properly in all respects and minor bug fixing, if any Programming specs: PHP / MySQL / JavaScript / Flash / HTML. Only standard programs are accepted with comments and indentation. Site will be hosted on a standard shared LAMP hosting with the latest version of cPanel. Hosting features will be provided upon request. If there is any open source CMS system suitable for this site, you may suggest that. Payment Method: Escrow payment through this site.
