331685 Joomla Eventlist modifications

Joomla Eventlist modul/plugin/modification We are working on a website that offers regional lectures and seminars events database to the visitors. For the beginning we will add about 300 to 500 lectures and seminars – later it should handle more lectures and seminars events.(This is a fast growing project, so I am looking for someone who could work together with us for the next years on this project). We tried to fix this with the joomal module eventlist ([login to view URL]), but eventlist has not enough options and fields for our needs. So I think an eventlist modification or better an evenlist plugin/modul could help. Maybe building a bridge between eventlist and SOBI2 or Fabrik will be the goal (but I have lot problems to get Fabrik work on our server). So here is the project description for “modul/plugin/modification on eventlist to get new functions and fields for it”. You may also write other strategies to get the needed functionality. However in my opinion eventlist is a good base. Maybe each function (see list below) is written as extra plugin… so we will have separated small project. The whole Site is in german – so it would help, if you know a little bit German. But we could also set it up in English and I will then translate it to German. ##################### Admin-Sections – New features: Categories: Our Eventlist will need Categories, Sub-Categories and Sub-Sub-Categories. There are only two Categories (lectures and seminars), some more Sub-Categories (Medicine, Work, Baking, …) and a lot more Sub-Sub-Categories (Animal-Medicine, Human-Medicine, … …). Admin should be able to add and edit all Categories, Sub-Categories and Sub-Sub-Categories. Venue: We will need extra fields “region”. This is very important, because user should be able to look up seminars only in there region. Extra field “Tip”: Each event should be able to be marked as “Tip”. If this markup is set, the event will show up with a little crown-icon (user-section). Extra checkbox “pre-registration needed”: Each event should be able to be marked as “pre-registration needed”. If this markup is set, the event will show up with a little pre-registration-icon (user-section) and the user should be able to filter his search to show only pre-registration-needed or pre-registration-NOT-needed events. Extra radiobuttons “free or billable”: set by admin – searchable/browseable by user … Extra field “Vita” – editable with tinyMCE … set by admin – searchable/browseable by user. Here some extra-info about the teacher/speaker is stored. Maybe it is better to trade this same as venues, because one speaker will have a lot of lectures/seminars ##################### User-Sections (not registered users – so every website visitor) – New features: The user has two options to find events (lectures and seminars): ------------ 1) browsing lectures and seminars Please have a look at my demo-site: [login to view URL] All = Show a list with all upcoming events order by time – about 50 each site. Filter = User should be able to filter this list by region. Once a filter is set it will be alive till the user wil change it (cookie or session …). The Filter will always show up on top of the site while browsing. Demomenu 1= This is the menu with all Categories, Sub-Categories and Sub-Sub-Categories. It should collapse, expande … as this is done with SOBI2. List output = First will be always the upcoming events. Site is paginated. Each events will show as: title title title, date (26.06.2009), region, starttime (20:30), hot tip icon, pre-registration needed, free or billable icon Click on one event will open it with all settings (plus the new one written above). There should also be a Back-Buttons (Click here to go back to your selections). So all in all as base eventlist-list-mode will be good – but you will have to make a lot of modifications to it. Please also estimate some time for the layout/css regarding this part. I will do this together with you (send you css infos, icons, … and help as much as I can). Eevntslists premade Search and Filter functions will not be needed here ------------ 2) searching lectures and seminars Please have a look at my demo: [login to view URL] So that's it. User should be able to select his region(s) (or all of them) and enter his keywords. Output will be a list of upcoming events (paginated) as in “1) browsing lectures and seminars”. ------------ ) Some other info Archive-Function should be used as eventlist provides it. User-Functions as eventlist provides it (User should be able to send new events to the admin and the admin should be able to approve them …). So – eventslist functionality should be preserved. Also it would be good, if eventlist is update-able – that's why I thought about an events-list module and not a hack. Joomla-Core should not be changed by this! Please only professionals with experience with joomla, joomla-modules. Some experience with eventlist would be good. Please send some references. Please send your ideas how to make the described functions work. We are open for all ideas. If something is not clear please ask for it – my English is not the best and maybe something is not absolutely clear. However – the demos [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] should be a good visualization of this job. Again – this is the starting project. My client will need a lot more functions later (till the site brings enough income and has traffic) – e.g. in a later step we will have to extend the user-functionality (submitting and editing events for users). And so on …
