Kiosk in PHP MYSQL(repost)

Update: Need a MYSQL driven website where the navigation and content both are based on SQL queries. The page is fixed design; also need a backend set of pages to populate the database. ## Deliverables As a medium skilled php/mysql programmer, I will maintain the project.? Therefore, I expect all variables/cookies to be fully documented in the php to include type, scope, purpose. GENERAL DESCRIPTION ? Need a MYSQL driven website where the navigation and content both are based on SQL queries. The page is fixed design; also need a backend set of pages to populate the database. I’ve designed a web site front end with fixed dimensions (divs). I need a back end database in MYSQL that will populate the content and navigation of the site and a set of stripped down pages to interact with the db to populate/input the data. Ultimately, the set of php files will be rolled into a kiosk (stripped down Linux install running a web/database server and Firefox) with no actual Internet connectivity.? The graphics/visual elements are already designed; I just need the php code to dynamically populate a php (html) file as the user pushes buttons. The page design is a fixed width/height with room for content and navigation buttons, which are limited to a maximum of 8 per page.? ? Once the database is populated, we should be able to change page content, including the navigation buttons by changing a precedence variable.? Simply put, I want to be able to edit an outline (of data in a database) which will change what and where it shows on the web pages. We do not have a fixed outline with priorities of data ??" so I want this dynamically populated. My concern is that as the data is compiled, we will change the [login to view URL] first 8 buttons, bumping something deeper in the outline and promoting something in its stead.? This is an informational kiosk. It uses image maps for navigation that sit on top of navigation buttons with text generated by SQL queries.? Each navigation button takes you to another page (or reloads the same page with different data) and populates the page with appropriate content.? Every content item will or will not have sub content . The change of levels should populate dynamically, or perhaps a script can be called to update the “place in the outline?? field (see below). ? ? PROPOSED DATABASE STRUCTURE ? Index field (key, unique, autonumbering) Name (text) describes the topic/item Button Text (text, limited to 25 characters) letters that appear when this is a navigation button Content Type (choice: text, video, image, url) Content (actual content ??" do we put images in the db, or link?) Place in the Outline (text or number? Used for tracking place and how to go up a level) Display Sequence (priority code, # or letter) to allow for purposeful sequencing of the navigation buttons because simply alphabetizing the nav buttons is not always the preferred method of display. ? ? OTHER THOUGHTS: I’m not sure if it is best to create a table for each level of the outline and use 1 to many relationships, or just create a text field for tracking.? For example, Forest Hill Acres from above would have the value of 1a1b to denote it’s place in the outline. ?
