Game Software Development Project

This project is a work for hire. All source code and legal rights will be owned exclusively by the Buyer once payment has been made. Contractor will be required to sign Buyer's contract documents to this effect. There is a game called Pax Galaxia. Buyer would like Contractor to design a similar type game with a few changes. Contractor can download a free demo (working) copy of Pax Galaxia at [login to view URL] It currently runs on both Windows XP/Vista and Mac OS X. I believe it is written in C++. There are others working on doing something similar (multiplayer game) using ActionScript and Flash. Open to discussion on what programing language the program will be coded by Contractor. -- Contractor to design game software similar Pax Galaxia. The main features required for this project (that is not present in Pax Galaxia) is the integration of ODBC/SQL database management system (DBMS will be either MS SQL or MySQL) so that the player's scores/wins/losses and skill ratings could be tracked and recorded. Unlike Pax Galaxia, Contractor to design game software so players will start with different numbers of ships depending on their skill ratings. -- The Pax Galaxia software (after registration and unlocking) allows players to host their own games and create their own maps. Buyer would not have players hosting any games or creating their own maps. Contractor to design game software so only Buyer can host (using the master software on our game servers) and players would only have the client software on their PCs. -- Very important component of Pax Galaxia is the internet speed regulator so all players are playing on an even field. You can type $lag into Pax Galaxia message field to see the latency (if below the minimum level) of each player. Contractor to integrate internet speed regulator into game software. -- Contractor to design game software with a sidebar for Buyer's placement of Google/Yahoo/MSN and other internet ads. Better integration with web browsers would be a plus. ## Deliverables Go to [login to view URL] and download free demo (working) version of Pax Galaxia. Play it so you know how it works and the different features. If you think of some improvements other than what I have already listed, so much the better. Then, if you think you can design similar, stable, working software without bugs, make a bid and we can discuss your price and the final deliverables. Please note that Pax Galaxia does **NOT** require the latest state of the art computer to play and has **minimum** graphics requirements. You should design software of a similar nature. The game should be designed for the masses and not only those that have high end game machines. Good luck!
