I remember my school sports period, where our teacher used to say there will be a day when the sports equipment will be really smart and interactive in future. Today I saw your project and it reminds me of him. It's really a great initiative to encourage the sportsmen as well as to track if they actually touch it while running/sprinting or any such sport which involves their hand touching the cone. From hardware point of view, It has to be small, circular in shape, that can be sticked on top of the cone. It has to have rechargeable battery, which means a solution with least power consumption will be a plus point. We also need to look for some easy to manufacture solution. Thiis project will need a PCB design, but before that we need to figure out things. Being a power electronics and embedded systems engineer, with good experience with PCB design, I feel I can do this. Just give me one chance to prove me, I'll ensure timed work and your satisfaction. I prefer to test it on hardware before designing, so I'll also test the circuit on breadboard and will share photos and videos with you time to time. Just let me have a chance to do this, I'm pretty confident I can do that. Also we can use a microcontroller too if required, but that increases size and power consumption.
