I am an assistant professor of Mathematics and I taught/still teaching operations research/optimization at an engineering university. I have my salary, I am not after the money at the moment (I can do the first phase for free if any income is generated fom the project, it will be donated to needy students ). But I am interested in solving practical problems and this problem looks interesting to me. I am interesed in publishing papers after solving the problem. I did work out a special scheduling problem which involves night shifts and day shifts of 12 hour working offshore for 14 days in a month: I produced a simple algorithim which satisfied all the shift requirements of the company while not causing any extra cost, reduced the night shift hours per employee and everyone got fair amount of night shift work/hours. Then the algorithm is implemented in Matlab. I can share the code with you if you are interested. If the problem is well understood and the idea is clear then it can be coded well. Drools and Octaplanner is new for me, but they look easy to learn and use. Looking forward to work for you on this project.
