Hi Andre, I'd like to suggest to prioritize project features for the minimum viable product. Say it could be: Stage 1: Create website to sell my books on auction. Stage 2: Extend functional and give the ability for people to register and sell their books on the site as well. Such approach will give you an opportunity start online sales faster, evaluate results and make corrections for future development of our business model (if needed). Your idea looks very interesting for me to work with and I made some quick research on the most optimal solution. I would suggest using Shopify eCommerce platform. It provides bunch of tools for managing inventory, payment methods, tracking orders and shipments. Also it has Product Auction extension. It will give you an opportunity to add auction on the products, keep track of all the bids on the products, and automatic email notifications to the winner & looser of the bid. Possible cons of using Shopify - it is not free. (the basic plan is 29USD/month, Product Auction app is $30.00/month). But it allows you to get a quality working website in short terms, extend it with apps which could be easily integrated to existing website, not to take a deal with security (you are going to have some personal information form you buyers (credit cards, shipping address).
