FPGA Communications project

Hi It would be possible to do what you want, but you haven't really specified what video standard you want to use. This would determine the rate and number of transceivers required. I would think that it would be better to use a serial video standard such as 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI or 12G-SDI. But that would also depend on how far you want to transmit between boards.
