Hello, 300 MB is not large by any standard..anyway, it can easily be moved using SFTP (ftp over ssh). recreating the DB, is simple at least for me. The biggest challenge would be to insert the new data between the move (between making the backup and the time it takes for the nameservers to change. (which can ber mittigated by using the new DB by IP for a few days...)

I have moved thousands of databases of all sizes around and know of a dozen methods that can be used depending on the source and target server type and available access. Splitting the exported database most probably isn't needed but surely can be done if the need arrises. You have SSH access to both servers? The major database version is the same on both servers? Hi, I do this many time.... Export with phpmyadmin and divide exported files... And then import each file with phpmyadmin... I can do this NOW.
