Hi,
The requirements listed in your proposal are very similar to the work I did, albeit in a completely different industry, before I left the traditional workforce.
Working as a facilities manager in charge of maintenance and energy at a private college, I oversaw a crew of twenty-five tradesmen and the 7,000+ work orders issued to them over the course of each academic year in addition to managing environmental regulations governing the operation of our power plant and emergency generators.
My duties were nothing if not a constant coordination of competing interests. Customer liaison was at the top of my responsibilities working with very picky academics and administrators whether by email, phone, or face-to-face. My B.A. in English proved to be worthwhile since the demands in writing even the lowest level email were very high in this academic setting.
While most of my day was spent in the nuts-and-bolts world, I was able to edit our regional association’s newsletter as well as start an in-house newsletter for the entire department, so I also bring some Photoshop and InDesign skills with me.
In addition to the above, I would bring the same dogged determination to this position as well as years of executive level managerial experience.
Thanks for considering me, and I wish you the best in your search.
Kent
