My app is built using Ionic 4/Angular for Frontend, and Firebase for the backend. The user receives notifications sent from Firebase Cloud Functions. When the notifications are received, if the app is in the foreground a toast is displayed to the user. And if the app is closed or in background, the push notification is displayed in the device status bar. I need an experienced Ionic/Firebase developer to make sure that the badge on the app's icon is always displayed if there are notifications. Currently, I'm testing with Android, and the badges either don't display, or display the wrong number.
