This essay (English GCSE) is all about specific movie which is ''To kill a Mockingbird'', you can find it on the internet or YouTube. About 800words ESSAY ---- How does Harper Lee show that the treatment of Tom Robinson is cruel and unfair in To Kill a Mockingbird? (need to look particularly at the way Tom is treated by Bob Ewell and Atticus.) Atticus appears to prove Tom's innocence and honest nature. How does he do this? What does this tell us about the character of Atticus? What does this tell us about Tom's character? What are the main points? Atticus establishes that Mayella''s bruises were the result of blows dealt by a strong left hand. How does he do this? What does the trial tell us about Bob Ewell? Look at the main points which Atticus establishes in this questioning of Bob and Mayella Ewell and Tom Robinson. A general point about the trial is that the jury is made up solely of white men, as black men ( or women) were not allowed to sit on juries. This establishes the fact that the odds are heavily stacked against Tom Robinson as soon as the case comes to court. Therefore the whole trial is seen as an unfair one right from the start.
