I need a legal translator to translate Chinese financial and legal documents, and online articles about finance into English. You need to have excellent written English and Chinese (specify dialect), and preferably some experience with legal concepts. Most of these documents concern financial records of Chinese companies.
You should also have good spoken English, and some smaller translations might be done by phone.
Please be prepared to show me a portfolio of your finished translations, both the original text and the translated document.
This need is ongoing, so I am likely to use this translator once a quarter minimum for years.
Please do not contact me if you are a broker. Please do not contact me if you are a large translation firm that farms out work to different workers. I want to know the person I am working with directly, and I want to know in detail that one individual's prior work.

I am currently a Ph.D. Student in Sociology at the State University of New York. I was born in the United States but received most of my education in Taiwan, from elementary school to college. Due to my bi-cultural background, I am fairly fluent in both Chinese and English, whether in spoken or written form. I am also familiar with academic writing, especially in Sociology, and am able to translate theoretical and sociological work back and forth in both languages. I have also taken classes on financial and legal topics, which equips me with language tools in the area.
