On a VPS with CentOS 5 and Plesk 9.5.4 are 10 domains hosted.
These domains can be seperated in 2 groups.
Group A uses Webhosting and Mail from VPS.
Group B uses Webhosting and no Mail from VPS (Google Apps Pro MX's instead)
The domains are registered at a registrar where I can set up all the dns settings.
The vps/domains do use the ns provided from the registrar.
I will provide you screenshots of the domain settings from within Plesk and from the registrar.
As everything is working I still noticed some "glitches".
E.g.
- Using mxtoolbox to lookup smtp gives "Reverse DNS FAILED".
- Within Plesk I simply added domains and see a PTR record in DNS settings. Do I have to add this PTR at the registrar, too? As well as there are ns. entries that I don't know if they're needed or modified.
Your job will be to lookup the current settings and provide me the correct dns settings; that all entries are valid and set up according to the rules.
There is no need to worries the whole dns changes required only a couple of hours but DNS propagation is a worldwide process therefore it will take a 24 hours because its work on ISP end cache
These are typical DNS misconfigurations that can be solved by editing the zone file. I currently manage the DNS servers of an important college, so rest assured your service will be in perfect state.
