Write a java application to provide a REST API to solve an employee rostering problem. The java application should be a Java 8 with Tomcat 8 version 2.6.0 written in Java 8, and expose a REST API. The application will make use of the OptaPlanner business resource engine to support the algorithm to determine the best roster for the specified problem. See attached document for a bit more detail on this brief. Deliverables are: • Working software written to java development best practices and standards and deployable to the Tomcat container • Unit test cases • API test cases • Handover document describing setup, configuration, deployment, design and how to extend – including an overview of the OptaPlanner / rules setup
