The average 'heavy smoker' will spend an estimated $5,000+ on cigarettes, around $2,000 of this is tax (over %50 of cigarette prices in New York City is local + government taxes). Now, all of a sudden, you remember your parents, grandparents or even great grandparents telling you how a pack of smokes 'back in the day' would cost a few cents, and you'd even get a free light and/or matches – what has that empathetic world become? Wait... anti-cigarettes, right... Good! I'm glad the taxes are there, well, not really – though, statistics, once again, would prove this; in the U.K. Alone smokers are declining at 0.4% PA, doesn't seem like much?
