I have Adobe Acrobat forms that I would like users to be able to submit to me by email w/ one click. After doing some research, the only thing that offers 1-click simplicity for users is to submit the data to a CGI script that runs on a webserver.
Ideally, users would click a "submit" field within the PDF which would POST the FDF data to my webserver.
Here's what I need the script to do:
Save the data submitted to a temporary FDF file on the server..
Generate a new email addressed to me (if possible, use form data in the FDF file to list the "From" address of the user, as well as subject line)
Attach the FDF file.
Send the email.
Delete the temporary file.
Needs to be able to run on a Apache / Linux server w/ Perl.
I have 10 years experience in Perl web development, with tonnes of applied knowledge in handling forms / sending emails with attachments. Feel free to PM me if you would like further info. Its a very straight forward task, which should only take a couple of hours.
I can make the project work exactly as you said, without a cgi on server requirement. I would use a form in a fdf file and all you have to do is click a button in adobe reader and it will email the file directly to you.
