Our company is looking for somebody with the following skill set to have on hand in case of emergency. There is no initial task right now - we are just looking for somebody who can help us in case something goes sideways (our senior developer is no longer with us). Support existing back-end web developers in maintaining and optimizing a large e-commerce website based on a custom-built PHP framework. Optimizing MySQL queries, refactoring PHP code, implementing small enhancements, documenting PHP code, troubleshooting bugs, and upgrading server software. Potential candidates should have solid organizational skills, be able to strictly adhere to coding and documentation guidelines, and write clean, well-structured code.
- Proficient in PHP
- Proficient in object-oriented programming and design
- Ability to adhere to internal coding guidelines
- Proficient in MySQL and optimizing MySQL queries
- Experience with Apache Mod_Rewrite and basic .htaccess configuration
- Experience with configuring PHP through [login to view URL] and .htaccess
- Experience with Linux/FreeBSD server administration (LAMP stack) is a plus
- Knowledge in MediaWiki documentation format is a plus
- Familiar with (X)HTML and CSS
- Familiar with php-doc "doc block" code commenting
