Betfair data collection

I would like to capture data from the Betfair betting site [www.betfair.co.uk.A][1] second stage is to capture data from the [[login to view URL]][2] site and add this to the spreadsheet. Betfair have an API which allows a considerable degree of flexibility in extracting or adding information. Racing Post does not. I would like to collect a small amount of information from Betfair and output a table which would include for example a horse name,race location and time and odds plus a few other items. I would like the output to be capable of being pasted into an excel spreadsheet. it would be useful if any data collected could also be captured in a data base I believe the Betfair API uses XML and SOAP .
